You can now add a song directly to your Instagram profile. The new feature announced by the Meta-based photo and video social network is now available to some users. The main feature is that users can now fully customize their profile within the social network.
The addition is interesting and, in fact, many users have started to integrate songs into their profiles to show their musical taste. However, not everyone may have access to this new feature and, in fact, Instagram has commented that the deployment will be done in stages so it is entirely possible that you do not yet have access to this feature.
Add a song to your Instagram profile
To add a song to the Instagram profile, you need to enter the “Edit profile” section. In this section, the basic options appear such as: name, username, pronouns, presentation, links, banners, genre and, in addition, music.
The new ‘music’ section is where you can integrate a song into your Instagram profile. We have checked and, unfortunately, it is not yet available in any of the Instagram accounts we have at hand so thanks to Android Police we will be able to see what this new section is like.
Selecting the music section will open a new menu where you can search for the song you want to add. This music library is the same one that Instagram offers for its Reels so, in principle, there shouldn’t be too many limitations. After selecting the song, the next step is to choose the fragment to play.
Obviously, a complete song will not be integrated into the profile. In fact, you can only listen to a 30-second fragment. Instagram’s real intention behind adding this feature is to promote the new song by singer Sabrina Carpenter and, in fact, this can be seen in the post made on X when announcing the news.
It is interesting, however, that it offers this possibility of personalization to users. Now everyone will be able to have a completely different profile, and above all, one that will be striking for those who visit it.
We just have to wait to see the global integration of this new feature that has landed from Instagram and that, for the moment, seems to have only reached a certain number of users. In any case, the best and most advisable thing is to always have the application updated.
